My Classic Lens
I’ve been taking photos for several years now. I started with a Nikon camera and I picked a 50mm lens up with it. After a couple years, I sold my Nikon and the four lenses that I had collected for it. I wasn’t on the Sony camera long before I picked up the Loxia 50mm. I’ve owned and sold four different Zeiss lenses for my Sony cameras as part of my education and experimentation but I can’t let go of the Loxia 50.
This weekend, I was headed to my first car auction. I don’t have a bunch of experience photographing cars but I have never had any trouble finding a photo when I’m carrying a 50mm. At the auction, I zeroed in on details.

For two of these photos, I got low and shot up to minimize my reflection. I liked that 50 allowed me to work at a comfortable distance and didn’t distort the lines. The lens is small, doesn’t weigh much and lets in enough light to take bright pictures inside.
